Netflix: East of Eden
East of Eden adapts John Steinbeck’s classic story into a family drama built around relationships, rivalry and long-running emotional conflict. It is a natural choice for viewers who prefer character-driven storytelling over fast action.
If you enjoy limited series with a serious tone and strong performances, this is one of the weekend’s bigger Netflix additions.
Netflix: Schumacher ’94 and Sports Documentaries
Schumacher ’94 – The Birth of a Legend arrives on Netflix on October 2. The documentary looks back at Michael Schumacher’s breakthrough 1994 Formula 1 season. It is a straightforward pick for motorsport fans and viewers who enjoy sports history.
Netflix Anime: Aoashi Season 2 and Blue Box Season 2
Anime viewers have two notable Netflix releases this weekend. Aoashi Season 2 continues Ashito Aoi’s football journey, while Blue Box Season 2 continues its mix of sport, romance and school-life storytelling.
Because both are continuing series, new viewers may get more from starting with their earlier episodes rather than jumping directly into the new season.
Prime Video: Kill Jackie
Kill Jackie arrives on Prime Video on October 2 and stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as Jackie Price, a former international drug smuggler whose quiet life is disrupted when assassins are hired to kill her. Its premise makes it a suitable weekend choice for viewers looking for a crime-action thriller.
Prime Video: Dupahiya Season 2
Dupahiya Season 2 returns with its rural comedy-drama setting and familiar characters. It is a different mood from darker thrillers, making it a useful pick when you want something lighter and more character-focused.
JioHotstar: Bethlehem Kudumba Unit
Bethlehem Kudumba Unit is a Malayalam romantic comedy arriving on JioHotstar on October 2. The story centres on Ashley and a relationship complicated by family expectations and circumstances around a wedding. Viewers who prefer regional Indian cinema have a fresh option for the weekend.
ZEE5 and Other Weekend Picks
Pooja Meri Jaan arrives on ZEE5 on October 2 and leans into psychological thriller and crime-drama territory. Other reported releases include #Love and Drishyam: The Conclusion, giving viewers more choices across romance, drama and mystery.

OTT Releases This Weekend: How to Avoid Missing New Releases
Streaming platforms sometimes add titles at different times, and release information can change. Check the title page inside the relevant app on release day, especially if you are planning a watch party or subscription around a specific premiere.
It is also worth checking whether a title requires a premium subscription. A movie or series appearing in an app does not necessarily mean it is included with every plan.
